Parents often bless their children at the Shabbat table but a host can also bless their guests! Below the beginning of the blessing is divided by gender, followed by the conclusion which is said for everyone.

The parent places both hands on their child’s head and recites:

(For Daughters/Female Guests)

May God make you like Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel and Leah.

(For Sons/Male Guests)

May God make you like Ephraim and Menashe

(For All Children/Guests)

May God bless you and watch over you.

May God shine His face toward you and show you favor.

May God be favorably disposed toward you and may He grant you peace.
